How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Governance Officer

    Rochdale

    Circa £32,512

    Permanent, Full Time

    We are seeking to appoint a Governance Officer within our Legal and Governance Service to support robust corporate governance, sound decision‑making and democratic accountability across the organisation.

    The Governance Officer role sits within the Governance team and provides vital support to RBH’s governing bodies (including Board, The Representative Body and Committees) coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and papers, taking accurate minutes, and maintaining statutory registers. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, facilitates effective decision-making, and acts as a key point of contact for governance queries.

    We are looking for someone who..

    · Communicates clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally, ensuring information is shared accurately and confidentially, and queries are handled with care and discretion.

    · Has excellent organisational skills with the ability to forward plan, balance priorities and co-ordinate events.

    · Possesses a high standard of data and information literacy with excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce documents and minutes of meetings to a high standard.

    · Has the ability to find innovative solutions and to adapt and prioritise deadlines, completing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    · Positively embraces change, adapting to the ever-changing social housing sector.

    · Is able to understand discussions in a debating forum, providing accurate summaries and record keeping of decisions.

    · Is a competent user of IT including working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and Office 365
