How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    AC / Refrigeration Engineer - Midlands
     
    Hill McGlynn is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing building services contractor for an experienced AC / Refrigeration Engineer to join their team covering the Midlands region. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for stability, strong earning potential, and long-term career progression.
    Salary & Package
    £40,000 - £47,000 basic (dependent on experience and skill set)
    OTE £60,000 - £65,000 with overtime and bonuses
    Travel time paid on any travel over 1 hour per day
    Regular overtime opportunities to significantly boost earnings
    Company van, fuel card, phone, and uniform provided
    29 days paid holiday

    Full-time, permanent position Role Overview You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of a range of air conditioning and refrigeration systems across commercial sites throughout the Midlands.
    Key Requirements
    Minimum 5 years' experience within the M&E / air conditioning sector
    Strong experience working on refrigeration systems including:
    Walk-in cold rooms
    Drinks chillers/langers
    Standalone units
    Proven fault-finding and repair experience on:
    VRF systems
    Split systems
    Ability to work independently on:
    Refrigerant recovery
    Pressure testing
    Brazed repairs
    Compressor changes (VRF and split systems)
    Experience working with major manufacturers such as:
    Daikin
    Mitsubishi Electric
    Toshiba
    Panasonic
    Ability to produce clear and detailed remedial and repair reports
    Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
    Previous experience working within commercial environments
    Participation in a 1-in-4 call-out rota
    Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 points) Qualifications
