How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    M&E Supervisor - National Grid Substation (NG Person Authorised)
    Location: Melksham Substation, United Kingdom
    Contract: Temporary
    Start Date: 14/04/2026
    End Date: 30/10/2026
    Rate: £400 per day
    Hours: 07:30 - 17:30 (50 hours per week)

    The Role:
    We are currently recruiting for an experienced NG Authorised M&E Supervisor to support mechanical and electrical works on a live National Grid substation project in Melksham.

    This is a key supervisory role within a high-voltage environment, overseeing site activities and ensuring safe, compliant delivery of M&E works.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Supervise mechanical and electrical works within a live substation environment
    Ensure all activities are carried out in line with National Grid safety rules and procedures
    Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and deliveries to maintain programme
    Oversee safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with RAMS and HSE standards
    Support project delivery through effective planning, communication, and site presence
    Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality across all worksRequirements:

    NG Person (Authorised) - Essential
    Proven experience as an M&E Supervisor within substations or HV environments
    Manual Handling certification
    Strong understanding of live substation protocols and safety procedures
    Full PPE required prior to mobilisationAdditional Information:

    Long-term contract through to October 2026
    Working on a live National Grid site - relevant experience is essential
