How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Train to Teach Roles
     
    Location: Manchester area

    Are you a recent graduate with a desire to gain experience in the classroom and passionate about working with young people?

    Smile Education is looking for Cover Supervisors and graduate Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools in the Bolton area! This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to gain experience in the education sector, whether you are a recent graduate or an aspiring teacher.
     
    As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will: 
       - Support the Class Teacher
       - Supervise students across a range of subjects
       - Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
       - Ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed
       - Support student learning and classroom behaviour management
     
    A typical day will include:
       - Checking for any specific instructions or a schedule for the day and gather necessary materials for lessons.
       - Supervising classes, supporting students with their work or provide 1:1 support if necessary.
       - Assist with supervising students during break times or lunch, helping to maintain a positive and safe environment outside the classroom.
       - Speak with the regular teachers at the end of the day to give feedback on how the lessons went, including student progress and any issues that occurred
     
    This Cover Supervisor role is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in education or gain classroom experience before teacher training.
     
    To be successful you will have:
       - An undergraduate degree is desirable but not essential (2:2 or above)
       - Strong communication and behaviour management skills
       - GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Maths
       - Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
