How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    MERITUS are recruiting for a Transducer Engineer to join our client in a permanent position from their site in Yateley.

    TRANSDUCER ENGINEER - UP TO £60,000 PER ANNUM - YATELEY, HAMPSHIRE - HYBRID REQUIREMENT

    You will take ownership of acoustic performance and quality standards across both new and existing products, ensuring consistency, reliability, and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

    Working closely with design, production, and systems teams, you will act as a technical authority on acoustic behaviour, supporting both development activities and in-service performance optimisation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Define and maintain acoustic performance standards and acceptance criteria across product lines
    Support manufacturing teams to ensure consistent, high-quality transducer production
    Contribute to the development and transition of new acoustic designs into production
    Lead validation and verification of acoustic performance across the full product lifecycle
    Collaborate with engineering teams to embed acoustic requirements at early design stages
    Investigate and resolve acoustic performance issues, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions
    Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance acoustic consistency and reliability
    Engage with internal stakeholders and international teams to align quality and engineering practices
    Represent acoustic considerations in design reviews, product release activities, and supplier discussions

    Essential Experience

    Experience working with underwater acoustics, transducers, or acoustic systems performance
    Strong understanding of acoustic theory, signal behaviour, and transducer technologies
    Ability to analyse and interpret acoustic test data and performance metrics
    Experience supporting product development and/or production environments

    Desirable Experience

    Exposure to quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies
    Experience developing test tools, lab software, or acoustic analysis solutions
    Practical experience with prototype build, testing, or electromechanical systems
    Experience within marine, subsea, defence, or offshore environments

    Qualifications

    Degree in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline
    Typically 5+ years' experience in a relevant technical environment
