The Role
As Senior Design Manager, you will lead the design process on new build construction projects ranging from £10m to £30m. Based in Coalville, you’ll work closely with project teams, consultants, and clients to ensure design delivery aligns with programme, budget, and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the design process from pre-construction through to project completion
* Manage consultant teams and coordinate multidisciplinary design information
* Drive design programmes in line with project timelines
* Review and challenge design solutions to ensure buildability and cost efficiency
* Chair design team meetings and manage design risk registers
* Work closely with commercial, planning, and delivery teams
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements
* Support bid and tender processes where required
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager with a main contractor
* Experience delivering new build projects valued between £10m–£30m
* Strong technical and construction knowledge across multiple sectors
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Relevant construction or design qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
