How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £30,000 – £33,000 DOE + 30% OTE

    AV Magazine has been the industry’s leading end-user media brand since 1972. It exists in print, on various digital platforms, on social media and through regular events and executive gatherings. Readership includes corporate AV buyers as well as producers, resellers, systems integrators, distributors, and manufacturers.

    We deliver authoritative content that places AV technology into a business context. We are also the buyer’s guide that helps educate the market for vendors, whilst supporting specifiers with their buying decisions. We act as a unique bridge between the channel and the end user, also reaching design consultants, digital and creative agencies along with events, rental, and production companies.

    As an Account Manager you are responsible for driving sales revenues across AV Magazine’s print, digital and event portfolios. Your key goal is to grow our business sales through effective delivery of features, supplements, special projects, and sponsorship sales. You will also be expected to exemplify team standards and behaviours. Driven, with a true desire to succeed in a sales environment. You will be tenacious, resilient, with a willingness to succeed.

    Key responsibilities:

    Managing the development of revenue by achieving agreed personal targets and preparing proposals

    Taking a proactive approach to lead sourcing in-order- to uncover new business opportunities

    Liaising with clients daily to discuss and identify their advertising requirements – devising an advertising campaign that meets their needs and budget

    Creating new business relationships whilst building rapport and growing existing business to increase revenue across your client area

    Ensure YOY growth of portfolio through the acquisition of new business, including sourcing your own new business leads.

    Lead trading updates with your line manager and key stakeholders weekly and always have 100% accuracy of numbers and pipelines.

    Maintain a robust and ambitious sales plan and ensure maximum delivery against sales targets for entire portfolio.

    To raise and maintain brand profile and become the recognised face of your portfolio, internally and externally.

    Closely monitor competitor activity and understand the market forces influencing your sector.

    Skills and experience:

    Proven and successful track record of a consultative new business approach

    Evidence of success in building and managing relationships with key decision makers

    Education to degree level or equivalent desirable but not essential

    Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.

    Experienced using CRM.

    Previous experience with a structured sales training method.
