Academics, a leading education recruitment agency, is currently working with a welcoming and an inclusive primary school in Huddersfield that is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join their dedicated team from September.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
Work closely with children who require additional emotional and behavioural support
Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to help pupils engage positively with learning
Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policy
Support the class teacher and wider SEN team to create an inclusive learning environment
Monitor progress and contribute to reports and reviewsThe Ideal Candidate:
Experience working in a primary school setting or with children with behavioural needs
Strong interpersonal skills with a calm, patient, and empathetic nature
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
A resilient attitude and a passion for supporting children with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Team Teach, MAPA, or equivalent) are desirable but not essentialWhy Work with Academics?
