How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Overview

    A specialist engineering team focused on developing cutting-edge technologies in RF systems, directed energy applications, and low observable solutions is seeking a Technical Lead to join its growing programmes function.

    With increasing demand from defence and government partners, this is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of advanced technology development within a highly innovative environment.

    The Opportunity

    As a Technical Lead, you will play a key role in the development of advanced RF-based systems, leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across modelling, design, and testing activities.

    You will:

    * Lead a multi-domain team delivering electromagnetic modelling, system design, and test activities

    * Collaborate closely with design authorities to inform system architecture and trade studies

    * Drive technical decision-making across complex engineering challenges

    * Take ownership of project delivery, including planning, budgets, and resource coordination

    This position combines hands-on technical leadership with programme responsibility, offering the chance to contribute to highly advanced and impactful technologies.

    What We’re Looking For

    * Proven experience delivering engineering development programmes

    * Expertise in at least one of the following areas:

    * High-power RF systems

    * Electrical/electronic architecture

    * Electromagnetic modelling

    * RF testing

    * EMC design principles

    * Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and develop multidisciplinary teams

    * Degree-qualified in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related discipline

    * Experience in project planning, task management, and delivery oversight

    * Willingness to undergo advanced security clearance
