We are currently seeking an experienced Van Mobile Supervisor (Plumbing Bias) to join a growing contract covering 6 schools in the Bedford area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on, with clear progression as the contract continues to expand.
🔧 The Role
This is a working supervisor position, where you’ll lead from the front—supporting your team on the tools while overseeing daily operations. As the contract grows, the role will naturally evolve into a more supervisory-focused position.
👷 Key Responsibilities
Overseeing and carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
Managing reactive works, emergency breakdowns, and minor projects
Ensuring all work is completed safely, in line with regulations, and within contractual timeframes
Completing and reviewing all required paperwork, reports, and compliance documentation
Notifying clients of remedial works and ensuring timely completion
Line managing a team of engineers and operatives, including training and development
Ensuring all mandatory training and e-learning is completed and up to date
Coordinating with the Helpdesk to ensure effective resource allocation
Participating in an on-call escalation rota to provide out-of-hours support
Supporting the Contract Manager and assisting the team as required
Carrying out audits where necessary to maintain service standards✅ About You
Strong background in plumbing (essential)
Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role
Comfortable balancing hands-on work with leadership responsibilities
Strong understanding of compliance, safety, and maintenance processes
