How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    BMS Controls Engineer - Field Service
    Location: Hull area (commutable within 100 miles)
    Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Travel money + overtime + loads of company benefits.

    Take a hands-on field service role maintaining, commissioning, and supporting controls systems across a variety of projects. You'll be out on site most of the time, travelling to client locations within a 100-mile radius of Hull, with some home/office time for admin and planning.

    No two days are the same - you'll troubleshoot, program, and service control systems while working closely with engineers and managers to ensure projects run smoothly. You'll also provide technical assistance to clients and internal teams, giving you a varied and highly visible role.

    What you'll do

    Travel to client sites to program, commission, and maintain BMS and controls systems.
    Carry out hardware and software installations on control panels.
    Integrate control systems into electrical, mechanical, and irrigation systems (Modbus, Bacnet, or Canbus).
    Modify new and existing control panels, controls, or equipment onsite.
    Provide telephone and remote technical support to clients and colleagues as required.
    Conduct performance testing, complete test reports, and support project delivery.
    Maintain and service control systems to ensure reliability and uptime.What you'll need

    Experience in installation, commissioning, and servicing of controls systems.
    Strong technical experience and problem-solving skills.
    Confident supporting and challenging other engineers when needed.
    Knowledge of HVAC systems is advantageous but not essential.
    Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within a 100-mile radius of Hull.About the company
