Job Title: CNC Milling & Turning Operator

Hours: Day Shift (with the possibility of moving to shift work)
Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Milling & Turning Operator to join an established precision engineering manufacturer in East Lancashire
This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, starting on a day shift, with the potential to move onto rotating or fixed shift work in the future.
This role would suit a reliable, hands‑on machinist with experience in setting and operating CNC machines in a precision manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set and operate CNC milling and turning machines
Load and edit programs where required (training provided if needed)
Work from engineering drawings and job cards
Carry out quality checks using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges)
Maintain machine tooling and ensure correct offsets are applied
Complete jobs to required tolerances and production times
Follow all health & safety and quality procedures
Keep the work area clean and organised
Support continuous improvement within the machining department
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a CNC Milling and/or Turning Operator
Experience setting and operating CNC machines
Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
Familiar with quality inspection and measuring tools
Experience working to tight tolerances
Knowledge of common CNC controls (such as FANUC, MAZAK, Heidenhain or similar) - preferred but not essential
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Good timekeeping and a strong work ethic
Shift & Contract Details
Initial shift: Day shift
Future flexibility: Willingness to move to shift work if required
Contract: Temporary to permanent for the right candidate
Overtime: May be available depending on workload
