How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join our central Portfolio Office team. The successful candidate will be part of a team of change professionals working with stakeholders to deliver a wide range of strategic projects to improve the quality of our services for our supporters, volunteers and staff. Projects and programmes at the RNLI are varied, and we are looking for all-round business analysis experience.

    Your Role

    As a Business Analyst, you will be tasked with focusing on the following areas:

    - Work across the RNLI at all levels, to gather, document and analyse functional and non-functional requirements which will be used to help define the scope and deliverables of strategic projects
    - Utilise business analysis tools and techniques, including workshop facilitation, process mapping and requirements prioritisation
    - Support project stakeholders and teams to influence, develop and deliver strategic change within the organisation
    - Identify, analyse, and respond to project risks, pre-empting potential issues and, in some cases, challenging the design and development community to work towards solutions
    - Input into continuous improvement initiatives to improve the maturity of the BA team at the RNLI

    About You

    To be considered as a new Business Analyst, you will need:

    - Strong experience as a Business Analyst working on projects throughout their lifecycle
    - Good end-to-end requirements management understanding, with experience in writing requirements documentation
    - Strong communication skills to build good relationships with our key stakeholders and customers
    - To be a team player who is highly self-motivated and able to work independently
    - Good problem-solving skills and a flexible approach
    - To be a logical and analytical thinker that can quickly evaluate information and identify key issues
    - Experience in testing and test script writing
    - A good level of MS Office knowledge
