How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    General Operative

    Location: Hull

    Salary: £13.00 per hour (rising to £13.50 after probation)

    Hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 12:30pm Friday

    We are currently recruiting for a General Operative to join a well-established precision engineering business in Hull. This is a great opportunity to secure a stable, long-term role within a busy and growing manufacturing environment.

    The Role

    A hands-on position supporting production and general factory operations, ensuring work is carried out efficiently, safely and to a high standard.

    Key Responsibilities

    Operating machinery and equipment in line with safety procedures
    Carrying out basic assembly tasks
    Conducting quality checks to ensure products meet required standards
    Handling and moving materials and finished goods
    Maintaining a clean and organised workspace
    Supporting other team members across the shop floor
    Following instructions and company procedures at all times
    Adhering to health & safety regulations and reporting hazards
    What We're Looking For

    Previous experience in a manufacturing or factory environment (preferred)
    Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
    Good attention to detail
    Team player with a reliable and punctual approach
