How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: General Maintenance Handyperson
    Location: St Helen's and Warrington
    Type: Permanent
    Salary: £32,000 Basic, Mon-Fri 40 hours/week plus van etc
    We are recruiting for a maintenance handyperson to cover PPM and reactive maintenance on several sites in the Warrington and Merseyside area. The maintenance handyperson will be responsible for general repairs, basic plumbing, basic lighting checks, compliance checks, fabric maintenance and minor room / building repairs. The role is a permanent position paying up to 32k basic. Mon-Fri 40 hours per week days. On-call TBC.

    Maintenance Handyperson Description:
    Provide general maintenance to the facilities including:
    Lamping
    Fabric maintenance
    Basic plumbing
    Minor joinery, patch painting etc.
    Completing compliance checks, emergency lighting, tap temps etc.
    Assisting engineers and trades on site
    Basic room repairs
    Also working on a mobile across across the area
    Ad-hoc handyperson duties
     
    Handyperson Requirements:
    To have maintenance and handyperson experience
    Valid driving license
    Electrical improvers, level 2 technicians or plumbers mates are welcome to apply as the company does run a a training program to gain level 3.
    Applicants are expected to have several years prior experience some of which will have been in a similar role and have good customer skills.
    It is essential staff are self-motivated and promote a “Can do” customer attitude at all times.
    Ability and desire to complete general fabric maintenance tasks
    Operate all systems within the building in a competent, effective and efficient manner, adhering to relevant guidelines and bulletins.
