How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Your New Role

    We have a new opportunity for a permanent Assistant Construction Manager to join our Traffic Scotland Infrastructure Contract (TSIC) in Cumbernauld, Glasgow.

    Our TSIC account is working in partnership with Traffic Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland since 2004. We are responsible for, maintaining, and upgrading all the Traffic Scotland roadside monitoring and control infrastructure.

    To provide the service, we handle and process asset data and information from multiple sources, and produce numerous reports to assist the contract team, customer, and operational partners to make informed decisions pertaining to the management of the infrastructure.

    The standard hours of work are Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

    As an Assistant Construction Manager , you'll support the Construction Manager to deliver works under the TSIC Contract safely, efficiently and in full compliance-meeting statutory obligations and achieving programme, quality and stakeholder requirements.

    Responsibilities:
    Assist the Construction Manager in the day-to-day delivery of highway and infrastructure works.
    Support the Construction Manager in fulfilling Principal Contractor duties under CDM Regulations.
    Coordinate and respond to NRSWA enquiries, permits, notices and inspections.
    Ensure works are planned and delivered in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
    Assist with the preparation, review and maintenance of Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
    Undertake site inspections, safety visits and audits, ensuring findings are reported and actions closed out.
    Manage and coordinate subcontractors and supply chain partners on site.
    Monitor programmes, resources and costs, highlighting risks and opportunities.
    Liaise with clients, local authorities, stakeholders and the public to maintain positive working relationships.
    Ensure works comply with specifications, standards and quality requirements.
    Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, permits and compliance documentation.

    A strong commitment to health, safety and wellbeing, leading by example and promoting a positive safety culture on site.
    Sound technical knowledge of CDM Regulations, NRSWA, Highways Safety and Site Management Safety, with experience applying these standards in day-to-day site operations. A full UK driving licence is essential. This role involves a significant amount of site-based work, therefore flexibility to work in all weather conditions throughout the year is required.
