How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Support Worker/Buddy – Tal-Y-Bont, LL43, Wales A full-time role supporting Claire, a lively 27-year-old with cerebral palsy who enjoys shopping, swimming, animals, and family life. Up to £18.00 gross per hour.
    * Nearest Town: Tal-Y-Bont, Wales
    * Salary/Wage: £15.50 gross per hour (weekdays) and £16.00 gross per hour (weekends), rising to £17.00 (weekdays) and £18.00 (weekends) upon successful completion of all training and competencies.
    * Driving Requirements: Confident driver of an automatic wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV); comfortable with rural and longer journeys
    * Essential: Experience or strong interest in supporting adults with physical disabilities; animal-friendly (dogs, horses, alpacas); comfortable with personal care. This role is open to *female candidates only.
    * Desirable: Previous care experience, manual handling/hoist, learning disability and/or communication needs
    * Start Date: ASAP
    * Days & Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (plus overtime if desired); shifts vary from 5 to 10 hours, between the hours of 8.00 am–9.00 pm, with a mixture of weekday and weekend shifts; one full weekend off per month (rota planned)
    * Pets in Home: Yes – dogs (Well-behaved Irish Setters), horses, alpacas, ponies

    About this client: Claire, 27, is energetic and sociable, and enjoys family life with her mum and siblings. She loves shopping, watching Disney films, jigsaws, riding her pony, and swimming in her pool. She uses an Eye-Gaze device to support her communication, as well as gestures, eye-pointing and vocalisation. Claire requires support with her personal care, transfers (hoists), feeding, and positioning. She eats orally with assistance; food is cut into small pieces. Her therapy includes Occupational, Speech and Language and physiotherapy. The home is busy, welcoming, with plenty of animals!
    The role at a glance: Full-time, permanent one-to-one support at home and in the community, including personal care, outings, college, therapy, and fun activities! You’ll make mealtimes enjoyable while supporting Claire to maintain a healthy diet. Driving her WAV on rural roads is an important part of the role. You’ll also keep the areas used by you or Claire tidy. The rota is 37 hours over 5 days, including some weekends with this pattern: 1. Saturday and Sunday, 2. One weekend day, 3. Full weekends off. The home is fully adapted for Claire, including hoists and a lift to her bedroom.
    Who this role will suit: A *female support worker/buddy who enjoys a lively family home, is comfortable around animals and has a good sense of humour! Applicants can be experienced in care or new to the field; highly motivated individuals keen to learn are very welcome. Someone who is happy to go away on holiday with Claire and her family (UK and/or abroad) and is a confident driver; some long journeys on rural roads are part of this role.
