How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Wireman - SSEN Substation Project
    Location: Kincardine Substation (FK10 4BL)
    Sector: Power Transmission / Substations
    Job Type: Contract
    Start Date: 13/4/26
    Duration: Approx. 3 weeks (150 hours total)
    Hours: 10 hours per day / 50 hours per week
    Positions Available: 1

    The Role:
    We are currently recruiting an experienced Wireman to support electrical installation activities on a substation project for.

    Working as part of a site team, you will assist in delivering high-quality wiring and installation works in line with strict safety, quality, and programme requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Carry out electrical wiring and installation works on substation panels
    Work in accordance with Siemens Energy QEHS procedures and site inductions
    Read and interpret electrical drawings, marking up where required
    Support the Site Supervisor / Chargehand in delivering works to programme
    Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
    Complete task cards and timesheets accurately and on time
    Highlight any potential delays or issues proactivelyKey Requirements:
    Electrically qualified with:

    Minimum 1 year substation panel experience, OR 2+ years on similar equipment within power generation, oil & gas, or construction
    Ability to read and work from electrical drawings
    Experience working on live substation environments (National Grid, SSE, SPEN etc.)
    Strong understanding of site safety and compliance standards
    Experience with Harting plugs (beneficial)
    Certifications & Tickets:

    CSCS Card or CCNSG Safety Passport

    National Grid Person / BESC
    NG Competent Person (NSI 6 / NSI 8 Limited)

    LTD / Umbrella:
    First 37 Hours: £29.12/hour
    After 37 Hours / First 4 Saturday Hours: £30.87/hour
    After 4 Hours Saturday / Sunday / Bank Holiday: £33.65/hour

    PAYE:
    First 37 Hours: £21.54/hour
    After 37 Hours / First 4 Saturday Hours: £22.84/hour
    After 4 Hours Saturday / Sunday / Bank Holiday: £24.90/hour

    Additional Information:

    Weekly timesheets (Time & Expense Sheets)
    No travel or per diem included
    Standard compliance checks may apply (D&A, referencing, etc.)
