How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer

    Location: On-site - Dublin, Ireland Role Type: Full-time

    Role Overview Our client is the premier dedicated data centre delivery partner in Europe, providing end-to-end turnkey solutions across the continent. Known for their expertise from design through to commissioning, they have established themselves as the most reliable name in the sector.

    Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, the Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer will collaborate with a team of engineers and supervisors to execute electrical commissioning works. This role is pivotal in ensuring the project remains on schedule while supervising external vendors and sub-contractors to maintain safety and high-quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Vendor Management: Oversee commissioning tasks for assigned electrical vendors, ensuring full compliance with the work scope and monitoring delivery.

    Programme Tracking: Communicate deadlines and milestones; provide progress reports on the commissioning programme to management.

    Coordination: Lead and contribute to daily and weekly commissioning meetings; work closely with the QA/QC department to meet shared quality objectives.

    Operational Planning: Coordinate with the Energy Marshall department regarding on-site switching and permitting; manage day-to-day site operations for assigned packages.

    Documentation & Compliance: Track and approve essential documents, including test scripts and compliance statements; witness vendor activities to ensure they align with project standards.

    Tagging & Validation: Execute commissioning tagging procedures and conduct hands-on validation of automation systems.

    Required Skills & Experience

    Technical Expertise: Essential experience with SCADA/Automation controls (IEC-61850, Modbus-TCP, Soft PLC) and MV/Goose interlocking systems.

    Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of network architecture, MV switchgear, Siemens Siprotec relays, and N+1 requirements for data centre backup systems.

    Testing & Design: Ability to develop test strategies, read code, and ideally write in FBD, Ladder Logic, or SFC. Experience with gas/power generation plants is highly desirable.

    Qualifications: A degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or a relevant Electrical Trade qualification (e.g., NVQ) with significant experience.

    Background: At least 5 years in a similar commissioning role within industrial, pharmaceutical, or data centre construction environments, specifically working with LV/MV or HV systems.
