Civils Supervisor | Highlands & Aberdeen Area | £35–45k + Van + Expenses
About the Company
A specialist civils and infrastructure contractor delivering groundworks for utility and energy projects across Scotland. The business supports DNOs, local authorities, and programme partners, covering everything from streetworks and reinstatement through to full civils packages.
They are currently playing a key role in a large-scale EV charging rollout across the Highlands and north of Scotland.
Role Summary
We are looking for a Civils Supervisor to support delivery across a wide-ranging programme of works throughout the Highlands, Aberdeenshire, and surrounding regions.
This is a hands-on, field-based role where you’ll be working closely with civils crews on-site, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with current regulations.
This opportunity would suit someone with a strong civils background who is either already supervising or looking to step up from a hands-on role into a supervisory position.
Responsibilities
- Supervise civils teams across multiple active sites, leading from the front
- Oversee excavation, reinstatement, tarmacking, paving, and general groundworks in line with regulations
- Ensure full compliance with streetworks and carriageway/public area requirements
- Manage traffic management and site safety across all locations
- Deliver regular toolbox talks and conduct site audits
- Complete daily progress reports and weekly H&S documentation
- Monitor quality of reinstatement works to ensure they meet required standards
- Review and challenge site designs/drawings where necessary during construction
- Liaise with local authorities, inspectors, and internal teams
- Carry out site handovers and ensure all documentation is completed correctly
- Manage stock levels and materials across sites
Requirements
- Strong civils background (e.g. Telecoms, utilities, groundworks, streetworks)
- Good understanding of reinstatement standards (tarmac, paving, footpaths, etc.)
- Up-to-date knowledge of working on or near public highways and live environments
- Solid understanding of H&S and CDM regulations (SSSTS advantageous)
- Experience delivering toolbox talks and site audits
- Comfortable using systems such as Outlook, Teams, and Excel for reporting
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Full UK driving licence (clean or minimal points preferred)
- Willing to support on-site activity where required
Location & Travel
- Ideally based around Inverness or the wider Highlands/Aberdeen region
- Coverage includes remote and regional sites across the north of Scotland, including west coast locations
- Regular travel is required, including driving for extended periods
- Overnight stays (upto 3–4 nights per week) will be required depending on project location
- Monthly travel to HQ for project meetings
Package
- £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
- Company van provided
