Civils Supervisor | Highlands & Aberdeen Area | £35–40k + Van + Expenses
About the Company
A specialist civils and infrastructure contractor operating across Scotland, delivering end-to-end ground works for utility and energy infrastructure programmes. The business works closely with DNOs, local authorities, and programme partners across a range of projects, from streetworks and reinstatement through to larger civils packages. Currently embedded in a significant EV charging rollout across the Highlands and north of Scotland.
Role Summary
A hands-on Civils Supervisor is required to support the delivery of EV charging infrastructure across the Highlands, Aberdeenshire, and the wider north of Scotland, including the west coast corridor through to Fort William. This is a field-based, doing role. The successful candidate will be out on the ground with their teams daily, ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification, and in full compliance with current regulations. No EV background is required, civils experience is what counts.
Responsibilities
- Supervise civils crews on active sites across the programme area, leading by example
- Oversee streetworks processes including excavation, reinstatement, tarmacking, and council sign-off in line with NRSWA requirements
- Manage traffic management arrangements and ensure on-site compliance at all times
- Carry out daily site reports and toolbox talks
- Ensure all personnel are working safely in line with current H&S legislation, risk assessments, and method statements
- Monitor scope of works on each site and flag any deviations promptly
- Liaise with local authorities and council inspectors as required
- Review contractor documentation and ensure all compliance paperwork is in order
- Conduct quality checks on reinstatement works to ensure they meet specification
Requirements
- Proven civils background with demonstrable site experience
- Strong understanding of streetworks: excavation, reinstatement, tarmacking, and council approval processes
- Knowledge of traffic management and on-site H&S compliance
- Ability to conduct toolbox talks and produce accurate daily reports
- Full UK driving licence
- DNO or ductwork experience desirable but not essential
- Formal civils qualification or degree beneficial but experience will be weighted equally
Location & Travel
Based in the Highlands or Aberdeen area, Inverness is ideal. The role covers a wide geographic patch including the west coast and Fort William corridor. Candidates should expect to be away 3–4 nights per week; accommodation and expenses are fully covered.

- £35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience
