TEXO Recruitment are currently looking for a Marine Project Planner for one of our valued clients in Hebburn. This role is full time on a contact basis for approximately 3-6 months at first but could lead to longer term for the right candidate. The Planner will create detailed project schedules using MS Project, translating marine project requirements into a structured sequence of activities. This includes establishing a practical approach to deliver the full scope of work within the required timeframe and budget. The Planner supports the commercial team by contributing to bid planning and converting bid proposals into vessel-specific execution plans. As a cross-functional role, the Planner acts as a vital link between Project Management and Commercial teams. Ongoing support is provided through tracking progress and regularly updating, revising, and issuing project plans as needed.

- Project Planning: Develop high level programmes from client and project manager briefs, translating them into fully integrated, resource loaded project plans. Define timelines and schedules with sufficient detail to support accurate interpretation of target costs.
- Specification Analysis: Review and interpret client specifications, project scope, deliverables, objectives and requirements to ensure alignment across all stages of delivery.
- Resource Management: Allocate multi disciplinary resources, including skilled labour, materials, and equipment, to support detailed cost breakdowns and estimator requirements.
- Planning & Scheduling Tools: Utilise planning software effectively to produce clear and actionable schedules. Collaborate closely with estimating and project management teams to maximise plan accuracy and usability, while continuously monitoring and optimising resource utilisation.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks, conduct critical path analysis, and implement mitigation strategies to minimise impact on project delivery.
- Progress Monitoring: Track project performance, provide regular updates and develop recovery plans to address delays or emerging issues.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with teams and stakeholders, ensuring transparency on project status, milestones, and changes. Promote continuous feedback loops to enhance accuracy, quality and information flow from operational to management levels.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, up-to-date project documentation, including plans, reports, and change records. Use tools such as bar charts, S-curves, and histograms within Microsoft Project or similar platforms.
- Budget Management: Monitor project costs and expenditure to ensure delivery remains within agreed budgets.
