Data & IP Formalities Administrator (Graduate Opportunity)

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to kickstart a career within the Intellectual Property (IP) sector. This role sits within a specialist team responsible for managing the administrative and data processes behind patents, trade marks, and design rights.
You’ll gain valuable, hands-on experience supporting legal professionals while developing an understanding of how IP rights are protected and maintained. This position is particularly well-suited to candidates with a genuine interest in IP, innovation, or technology.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting with data management and accuracy checks across internal systems
- Opening and maintaining records for patent and trade mark matters
- Monitoring shared inboxes and workflows to ensure tasks are completed on time
- Uploading and organising legal documents within case management systems
- Assisting with reporting and portfolio management tasks
- Preparing materials for meetings and taking notes where required
- Liaising with internal teams to support the smooth running of cases
This is a detail-oriented role where accuracy and organisation are key, as you’ll play an important part in ensuring deadlines and legal records are properly managed.
Who They’re Looking For
Essential:
- A recent graduate (any discipline – Law, STEM, or similar is advantageous)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable working with data, systems, and spreadsheets
Desirable:
- A demonstrable interest in Intellectual Property (IP)e.g. Academic modules, internships, projects, or a clear personal interest in innovation
- Any previous administrative or legal experience (not essential)
