How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Job Title - CNC Miller – Setter / Operator (3–5 Axis)

    Location – Leicester

Rate of Pay - £22.98 per hour (incl. Shift allowance)

    Shift Type - Permanent Nights (Mon–Thurs, 18:00–06:00)

Work on precision-critical components where microns matter.

Join a high-spec machining environment producing components for aero engines and gas turbines—where quality, consistency, and technical capability are non-negotiable.

This is a role for experienced CNC professionals who take pride in setting complex parts right first time and keeping machines running at peak performance.

    The Role

    • Set and operate 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components
    • Interpret and optimise CNC programs, tooling setups, and offsets to ensure consistent quality output
    • Take ownership of machine setup, datum setting, and process control
    • Maintain tight tolerances using a range of inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers, CMM, shadow graphs)
    • Work collaboratively to maximise machine utilisation and throughput on a structured production plan
    • Support Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) to ensure reliability and uptime
    • Deliver against production targets without compromising quality standards

    About You

    Essential:

    • Proven experience setting and operating multi-axis CNC milling machines (3–5 axis)
    • Background in aerospace, precision engineering, or high-spec manufacturing environments
    • Strong understanding of CNC programming logic, offsets, tooling, and setup parameters
    • Ability to confidently use inspection and measurement equipment
    • Track record of working to tight tolerances and production deadlines

    Desirable:

    • Apprentice trained or equivalent hands-on engineering background
    • Experience with CAD/CAM systems or program editing
    • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or TPM principles

    The Opportunity

This is not a standard setter/operator role. You will be working on complex, high-value components where precision directly impacts performance in demanding industries such as aerospace and power generation.

The environment is process-driven, quality-led, and technically advanced, offering exposure to challenging geometries and modern machining practices.

    What’s on Offer

    • £22.98 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance)
    • Permanent night shift – 4-day working week (Mon–Thurs)
    • Structured annual pay reviews
    • Pension scheme + life assurance
    • Increasing annual leave entitlement with service
    • Stable, long-term opportunity within a high-demand manufacturing sector

    The Company

A globally recognised precision engineering manufacturer, supplying critical components into aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets.

Known for its investment in advanced CNC technology, CAD/CAM capability, and engineering excellence, the business offers a stable environment where skilled machinists can develop and refine their expertise on technically demanding work.

If you are an experienced CNC Miller looking for a technically engaging night shift role, apply now or get in touch for a confidential discussion.
