How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CIEE London, part of the global Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), is a premier institution dedicated to fostering international exchange and education. Based in Russell Square, London, CIEE London offers enriching academic programs for U.S. Undergraduates, interns, high school students, and scholars, including its flagship Open Campus program. The center partners with leading UK universities and local organizations to provide immersive education and professional experiences, including internship placements that connect students with London's vibrant professional community. Students join for durations ranging from six weeks to a full academic year, during which they engage in a robust academic and social environment. Additionally, CIEE London offers versatile event spaces for conferences, workshops, and business meetings.


    Summary of Position: 

    The Program Coordinator works under the supervision of the Program Manager in designing, communicating, and executing all extra-cultural learning opportunities for students at the London study center. These include orientation, overnight study tours and day trips, local excursions, and events hosted at the study center. The Program Coordinator interacts daily with students and therefore plays an important role as a conduit between students and staff. They must an be excellent event planner communicator and able to assist students to experience London culture and society. The Program Coordinator is therefore very familiar with London and navigates the city with ease.

     

    Primary Responsibilities: 

    • Support the Student Life team with the organization, preparation, and successful implementation of orientations, and all the necessary logistics included.
    • Support our students for the duration of the program by helping students work through issues such as homesickness and illness and referring them to appropriate resources.
    • Share your enthusiasm for the local language/culture/program subject – bring your experience!
    • Help support/supervise our students during activities and excursions as assigned by the Student Life team 
    • Assist the team to manage students’ major behavioral and other pastoral issues.
    • Hold the CIEE emergency phone on rota to support students after hours.
    • Monitor and respond to emails in the shared London Student Life inbox.
    • Be part of the Student Representative Council with other Program Coordinators.
    • Report all medical or behavioral incidents to London senior management and global support teams in Salesforce with detailed documentation within 72 hours.
    • Immediately report any serious concerns to the Program Manager.
    • Assist all teams with program logistics, group management and other duties as assigned by the Programs Manager. 
    • Cross collaborate with other Program Coordinators to assist with housing placements and support faculty led programs.
    • Cross collaborate to support students on our Direct Enrollment Programs.


    Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Minimum 2 years' experience in a higher-education setting or within a study aboard office.
    • Minimum 2 years' experience working in a student-facing environment.
    • Interpersonal skills, intercultural communication skills and ability to work across cultures with diverse staff and students
    • Sound judgement and decision-making skills in crises with discretion to sensitive topics 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages and a knowledge of social media platforms e.g., Instagram, TikTok etc. (desirable
    • Experience with Salesforce (desirable)
    • Able to adapt in a dyna)rk environment 
    • Knowledge of London and the UK
    • Ability to create positive and inclusive group dynamics amongst students of different backgrounds 
    • Understanding/experience of US culture and study abroad experience (desirable)
    • Empathy for CIEE’s mission, culture, and values
