How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Location: Maidstone / Medway (Training Centre Based)

Salary: Up to £44,500 (depending on experience)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

    The Opportunity

Are you an experienced electrician ready to step away from the tools? Or an established Electrical Tutor or Lecturer looking for your next move?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established training environment where you’ll shape the next generation of electricians - passing on your knowledge, experience and standards to apprentices entering the industry.

Whether you’re already teaching or looking to transition into education, full support and training can be provided to help you succeed.

    About the Role

As an Electrical Tutor / Trainer / Lecturer, you’ll deliver high-quality teaching across a Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician apprenticeship programme.

This isn’t just classroom delivery - you’ll bring the trade to life, combining theory with hands-on practical learning to ensure apprentices are fully prepared for real-world electrical work.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver engaging classroom and workshop-based teaching in electrical installation
    • Teach both theory and practical elements to Level 3 apprentices
    • Help apprentices link real-world experience to technical knowledge
    • Assess learner progress through a range of methods (practical, written, verbal)
    • Provide clear, constructive feedback to support development
    • Track and report on attendance, progress, and achievement
    • Prepare learners for assessments and End Point Assessment (EPA)
    • Create a positive, structured, and disciplined learning environment
    • Embed health & safety, employability skills, and professional behaviours into delivery
    • Support learner wellbeing, safeguarding, and personal development
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve delivery and share best practice
    • Keep your own industry knowledge up to date through CPD and employer engagement

    • Electrician (Installation / Maintenance)
    • Electrical Engineer (hands-on)
    • Electrical Supervisor / Site Manager
    • Electrical Tester / Inspector
    • Electrical Lecturer / Tutor / Trainer
    • Workshop Instructor / Apprenticeship Trainer

If you’re currently on the tools and thinking about a long-term career change, this is a great opportunity to move into a more stable, rewarding role with strong progression.

    • Strong hands-on industry experience
    • GCSE Maths & English (or Level 2 equivalent)
    • Confident communication and presentation skills
    • Basic IT skills for reporting and learner tracking
    • A genuine interest in developing others

    Desirable (but not essential):

    • Teaching qualification (AET, PTLLS, or equivalent)
    • Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/D33)
    • Internal Quality Assurance qualification (IQA, V1, D34)
    • IOSH or similar Health & Safety qualification

    What’s in It for You

    • Opportunity to step away from site work into a long-term career
    • Full support to gain teaching and assessing qualifications
    • Excellent work-life balance with structured hours
    • Generous holiday allowance + bank holidays
    • Pension scheme with employer contributions
    • Healthcare and wellbeing benefits
    • Ongoing CPD and career progression opportunities
    • A stable, purpose-driven role where you can make a real impact

    Why Make the Move?

Teaching offers a unique opportunity to:

    • Shape future electricians entering the industry
    • Work in a structured, supportive environment
    • Build a rewarding career beyond the tools
