How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Customer Support Team Leader

    Location: Preston (Hybrid)

    Salary: Circa £40,000

They’re looking for a Customer Support Team Leader to join the team—ideal for someone currently in a senior business support or operations role who’s ready to take the next step into leadership.


    It is essential that you have experience in the energy or utilities sector, with a managed services background.


    Whether you’ve already had some exposure to mentoring or are looking for your first formal management role, this is a brilliant opportunity to develop your leadership career in a supportive, structured environment.


    The Role

    You’ll oversee the day-to-day running of a business support function, ensuring smooth operations and excellent service delivery. Alongside this, you’ll begin to take ownership of team leadership—coaching, developing, and guiding colleagues to achieve their best.


    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Supporting the delivery of a high-performing business support function
    • Acting as a key point of contact for operational queries and escalations
    • Monitoring performance against SLAs and identifying improvements
    • Coaching and mentoring team members (with support from senior leadership)
    • Driving process improvements and efficiency across the team
    • Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure excellent service delivery
    • Helping to build a positive, collaborative team culture


    About You

    • Currently in a senior customer support/operations role
    • Looking to step into your first team leader position (or early-stage leadership experience)
    • Currently or previously working with the energy or utilities sector
    • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
    • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and support others
    • Passionate about delivering excellent customer/service outcomes
    • Keen to develop leadership skills and grow your career
