How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    What we ask

    Education

    No minimum education required

    Job description

We’re looking for a People Advisor to join our People team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This role is central to the smooth running of our day‑to‑day people operations and is ideal for someone who enjoys structured work, high attention to detail, and keeping multiple operational threads moving at once.

You’ll be a trusted first point of contact for managers, supporting non‑complex employee relations, employee lifecycle processes, HR systems, and people data. The work is varied, detailed, and important. From advisory conversations and HR documentation to system updates, audits, and payroll‑related activity.

This role suits someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys organising complexity, and gets real satisfaction from getting things done properly.

    What You’ll Do

    HR Advisory & Casework

You’ll independently manage non‑complex employee relations cases, including absence management and low‑level performance issues. You’ll act as a confident first point of contact for managers, providing accurate and timely advice, preparing documentation, and supporting processes such as flexible working requests, disciplinary and grievance administration, and probation reviews.

    Employee Lifecycle Management

You’ll deliver end‑to‑end employee lifecycle activity, including onboarding workflows, pay review administration, contract and letter creation (promotions, job changes, probation outcomes, flexible working and pay review letters), and offboarding tasks such as exit interviews, holiday calculations, and leaver letters.

    HR Systems, Data & Reporting

A significant part of the role involves working closely with HR systems and data. You’ll maintain HRIS accuracy, manage workflows and automation, run reports, support audits, and carry out data reconciliation (for example, HRIS and timesheet data). You’ll also contribute to HRIS improvements and act as a liaison with system providers alongside HRBPs.

You’ll be comfortable using tools such as Microsoft Word (including templates and mail merges), Excel (particularly for pay data, audits, and large‑volume administration), DocuSign, onboarding systems, and SharePoint.

    Organisation & Operational Support

This is a high‑detail, high‑trust role. You’ll manage multiple small tasks, deadlines, and cases simultaneously, track actions, chase responses, and remind stakeholders when needed. You’ll work independently with minimal supervision, remain calm during busy periods (such as pay review cycles), and maintain meticulous attention to detail across letters, payroll documentation, HRIS entries, and audits.

    Administration, Compliance & Projects

You’ll also support or lead on HR audits, policy and handbook updates, SOP creation, wellbeing initiatives, template improvements aligned with legislative changes, and recruitment administration such as interview coordination and intern recruitment support.

    Payroll & Benefits Support

You’ll prepare payroll‑relevant documentation including starter and leaver information, absence documentation, employment changes, and benefit requests. You’ll also support benefit schemes such as pensions, cycle to work, and health insurance.

    About You

You May Be a Good Fit If You…

    • Have experience in a hands‑on HR Advisor or HR Officer role, managing non‑complex ER cases independently
    • Are confident supporting the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding
    • Enjoy working with HR systems, data, and documentation, and take pride in accuracy
    • Are highly organised and comfortable managing many small tasks and deadlines at once
    • Stay calm and focused during busy periods
    • Naturally spot errors, inconsistencies, or missing information
    • Enjoy improving processes, templates, and ways of working
    • Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
    • Build trust easily with managers and colleagues
    • Desirable (but not essential) experience includes supporting HR system improvements, policy drafting, engagement surveys, recruitment campaigns, or working across multiple jurisdictions.

    Application Process

Applications close on Sunday, 26th April 2026, although we may close earlier if we receive sufficient interest. Every application is reviewed by a member of our team.

Our selection process is designed to be transparent and respectful of your time, and includes:

    • An initial call with a recruiter (for longlisted candidates)
    • A 30‑minute interview with the hiring manager
    • A final in‑person interview at our Cambridge office
