Location - Gloucester (Twice a week on site)
Rate - £650 - £800 Inside IR35 (Umbrella engagement)
Duration - 9 months
We’re working with a client who are investing significantly in strengthening their Technology Resilience and Disaster Recovery capability across a large-scale, cloud-first environment.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Disaster Recovery Specialist to play a key role in shaping and delivering a modern Resiliency and Recovery Testing Programme within a central Service Management & Controls function.
The Role:
You’ll be responsible for reviewing, enhancing and embedding disaster recovery and resilience practices across the organisation’s technology estate. A key focus will be moving towards end-to-end, scenario-based testing across business-critical services and processes.
Working closely with both technology and business stakeholders, you’ll help define critical services, design and implement repeatable and automated testing approaches and ensure all recovery processes are robust, auditable and aligned to best practice. This role also offers the chance to influence how resilience is built into a cloud-first architecture, helping to shape standards, patterns, and long-term recovery strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead disaster recovery and resilience testing across complex environments
- Design and implement end-to-end, scenario-based testing approaches
- Work with business and technology teams to define critical services and processes
- Develop automated and repeatable testing capabilities
- Review and improve existing DR frameworks, standards, and controls
- Contribute to broader resilience strategy and cloud architecture best practices
Experience Required:
- Strong background in Disaster Recovery and resilience testing
- Experience with end-to-end / scenario-based testing across multi-tier environments
- Experience working in complex enterprise environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement across both technical and business teams
- Understanding of cloud-based architectures and modern resilience patterns
