How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Talentmark are recruiting for a Development Chemist to join a Chemicals Manufacturing company at their site based in Greater Manchester on a full time, permanent basis, for a salary range of £35,000 - 45,000.


    The Company:

    An internationally recognised UK manufacturer of specialist industrial lubricants, known for its strong focus on innovation and formulation science. With integrated R&D and manufacturing facilities, the business develops tailored solutions for complex engineering applications, supplying customers worldwide via an established global network.


    Location:

    Greater Manchester


    Your main duties will be:

    • Formulate and develop new blended products, work to improve existing products and work to approve new raw materials.
    • Create customer-facing (TDS etc) and internal documentation (QC specification etc) and SAP records for new products.
    • Prepare technical reports and presentations as required.
    • Liaise with Quality Control re problems with samples, batch monitoring and creation of QC specification for new products, including Safety Data Sheets.
    • Work with Production on the manufacture of new products and assist with other products as required.
    • Work with other departments such as Commercial and Marketing as required.


    Your Background:

    The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

    • Chemistry degree (or above) desirable.
    • Be comfortable in a laboratory environment.
    • Good motivation and organisation skills.
    • Industrial lab experience.
    • Familiarity with product development methodologies – research, sample preparation, testing, review desirable.
