Aureos is looking for a Pole Delivery Driver to work for the distribution division in Norther Ireland.
The Pole Delivery Driver plays a key role in supporting our field operations by transporting and delivering wooden poles and associated materials to work sites across the network. The role ensures that all deliveries are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with Aureos safety rules, environmental standards, and operational procedures.
This position directly supports the delivery of a safe, reliable electricity network for customers across Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Delivery
- Transport wooden poles and long‑load materials from depots to designated work sites.
- Operate pole‑carrying vehicles, HIAB cranes, and associated lifting equipment in accordance with training and certification.
- Ensure all loads are secured to standards and meet legal transport requirements.
- Off‑load poles safely and position them as directed by site supervisors or field crews.
- Support emergency response activities when required, including storm events and network faults.
Safety & Compliance
- Work in full compliance with Aureos Safety Rules, including PPE requirements, site access protocols, and safe systems of work.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
- Follow all road traffic legislation and company driving policies.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ongoing training.
- Ensure environmental considerations are followed, including spill prevention and waste handling.
Operational Support
- Liaise with planners, supervisors, and field teams to coordinate delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and vehicle documentation.
- Assist with yard duties such as loading poles, stock checks, and general depot housekeeping.
- Represent Aureos professionally when interacting with landowners, contractors, and the public.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Full UK driving licence (Category C or C+E depending on vehicle type).
- Valid HIAB or lorry‑mounted crane certification.
- Experience transporting long loads or heavy goods.
- Strong understanding of safe lifting, manual handling, and load‑securement practices.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules or site conditions.
- Requirement to work overtime in storm conditions whenever required.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a utility, construction, or power‑network environment.
- Banksman / Slinger–Signaller training.
- Experience supporting emergency response or out‑of‑hours operations.
