Shipping Operations & Chartering Coordinator - Kent based.
A unique opportunity to join a highly stable, family-run shipping company to be amongst a small team in a role offering real exposure to all areas of the business and a clear path into shipping operations or chartering —ideal for someone with strong admin skills looking to build a career in maritime.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as first point of contact for operational queries, calls, and time-sensitive issues.
- Working closely with the Operations Manager to provide coordination support across voyages, systems and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate day-to-day vessel and cargo activities across voyages, terminals, and internal teams.
- Assist with voyage instructions, agent appointments, and proforma disbursement accounts (PDAs).
- Maintain internal systems, support scheduling and invoicing, and liaise with ship managers and external stakeholders.
- Over time, take on bunkering and voyage planning responsibilities.
What we're looking for
- A strong administrative foundation background with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with international stakeholders.
- Organised, calm under pressure, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
- A team player with a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Maritime experience is helpful but not required.
Candidates MUST be able to travel into the office full-time, based in Rochester Mon-Fri.
