How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    3t is currently looking to recruit a Crisis Management Instructor on a permanent contract. The successful candidate will be required to work across both our Dyce and Montrose sites, as operational needs require.

    The Role

    Role Purpose:

    Delivery and development of the Major Emergency Management suite of courses.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to 3t Values
    • ‘Live’ our 3t Values and apply them in day-to-day work
    • Delivery of course presentations and where appropriate to the relevant OPITO Standard
    • Supervision and appropriate briefing and de-briefing of assigned simulator staff, to achieve a co-ordinated scenario outcome
    • De-briefing of Learners to highlight their strengths and weaknesses and ensure they achieve learning outcomes
    • Efficient operation of the simulator including software to maximise the training value of each scenario
    • Liaise with the Industry Consultant (Assessor) to ensure Learners are rated to a commonly understood and agreed performance standard
    • Assist in the development, design and improvement of new and existing courses
    • Role Playing as required and assigned by the CM Team Lead
    • Assist in the ongoing competence training of contracted role players
    • Willing to travel offsite within the UK, offshore and overseas

    Person Specification:

    Essential Criteria:

    • Industry recognised instructor / teaching qualification
    • Industry recognised Assessor qualification, SQA / OPITO or equivalent
    • Knowledge and understanding of the high-risk industry sector e.g. UKCS and Renewables
    • Knowledge of HSE regulations and Emergency Response best practice
    • Good IT knowledge and skills
    • Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral
    • Ability to work as part of a team or individually as required
    • Ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines under pressure
    • Effective problem solver and clear thinker


    Desirable Criteria:

    • To have operational emergency management experience – e.g. Emergency Services, Military, Coastguard or other (preferred)
    • Proven training delivery


    The working hours for this role are 7.30am to 4.15pm, Monday to Friday. Each working day includes an unpaid lunch break of 45 minutes.
