How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Shift Mechanical Craftsperson

    Birmingham

    £41,480

    Shift patten - 2 days on (7am-7pm) then 2 nights on (7pm-7am) then 4 days off

    Brief

    Shift Mechanical Craftsperson needed for a large well known Facilities Management organisation based in Birmingham who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Shift Mechanical Craftsperson that takes pride in their work

    The successful candidate must hold their City & Guilds (or equivalent) Mechanical qualification and have a keen interest in mechanical engineering.

    In terms of equipment you will be working on it will be anything from - AHU, FCU, Boilers, Calorifiers and plantroom equipment

    Salary: £35,000 - £41,480 per annum

    What the role entails:

    Some of the main duties of the Shift Mechanical Craftsperson will include:

    Responsible for the delivery of mechanical engineering maintenance service in line with contractual obligations, industry best practice and relevant standards and guidance (HTM)
    ensure planned preventive maintenance, testing, breakdown/reactive maintenance activities on the estate are completed and records maintained
    Manage individually assigned work effectively to ensure site performance via use of CAFM systems and other digital based management tools is accurate when reviewed by management
    Achieve and maintain AP/CP appointments in disciplines as requested by estates management team to support the contract where required and appropriate
    Maintain AHU, FCU, Boilers, Calorifiers and plantroom equipment

    What experience you need to be the successful Shift Mechanical Craftsperson:

    City & Guilds (or equivalent) Mechanical qualifications
    Understanding of AHU, FCU, Boilers, Calorifiers and plantroom equipment
    Indentured apprenticeship or equivalent training
    Healthcare and or Healthcare PFI experience (Desirable)
    Driving licence
