How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A growing multidisciplinary consultancy is now seeking a proactive Assistant Building Surveyor to join their Eltham-based team. The building surveyor will work across a wide range of projects, collaborating with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in surveying, contract administration, and project delivery. This is an opportunity for an ambitious building surveyor to develop skills across Housing, Education, Commercial, Care, and Health sectors while working within a supportive building surveyor team. The role will also allow exposure to sustainability and retrofit initiatives, providing a broad platform for professional growth.

    The Role
    As the building surveyor, you will assist throughout the project lifecycle and support senior colleagues in the delivery of building surveying services.

    The role will include:
    * Undertaking day-to-day delivery of projects across Housing, Education, Commercial, Care, and Health sectors
    * Supporting contract administration and project documentation
    * Conducting building surveys and site visits
    * Liaising with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery
    * Assisting with reporting at various stages of projects
    * Contributing to energy efficiency and retrofit initiatives where applicable

    The Assistant Building Surveyor?
    You will be a motivated individual committed to building surveying and keen to develop your expertise. Applications from non-Construction related candidates will not be considered.

    The Assistant Building Surveyor must have:
    * BSc Hons in Building Surveying or related discipline
    * Residential building surveying experience
    * Experience with JCT contract administration
    * Knowledge of retrofit or sustainability projects is advantageous
    * Commitment to ongoing professional development and progression
