How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    My Client, a market leading Engineering and Environmental Consultancy based in Sheffield, is searching for a Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to join their supportive team.  You will be required to work from the office.   

    This exciting role will offer candidates the opportunity to join an innovative team who specialise in reducing flood risk and alleviating drainage issues of new developments across the UK.  With a wide portfolio of projects you will have the chance to design flood risk solutions for Residential, Commercial, Retail and Education Sectors for both public and private sector clients.  

    As a Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer you will be required to complete varied technical work including; 

    -Flood Risk Assessments for flood zone 1,2 and 3. 

    -Flood Risk Mapping using ArcGIS. 

    -Flood Consequence Assessments.  

    -Drainage Strategies for Planning Applications.

    -Drainage, attentuation and sewerage design using infodrainage and causeway flow.   

    -Design of drainage solutions for residential, commercial, retail and educational projects.    

    -Client meetings to discuss project progress.

    It is essential that applicants have a strong BSc and/or MSc in Civil Engineering, Environmental Management, Hydrology or Environmental Engineering and experience working for a UK based Consultancy completing flood risk assessments, drainage strategies and design using infodrainage or causeway or AutoCAD.  

    It is essential for applicants to reside locally as you will be required to work from the office, 5 days a week.
