How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Champion the Rights of Bradford’s Children

Bradford Metropolitan District Council is seeking a dedicated and authoritative Independent Reviewing Officer to join the Safeguarding and Reviewing Team 2. This is a pivotal role designed for a social work professional who is passionate about quality assurance and ensuring that the voice of the child remains at the heart of every care plan.

Bradford is a city of transformation. As one of the youngest and most vibrant districts in the UK, the Council is committed to a journey of significant improvement and innovation. Working here means being part of a forward-thinking environment that prioritizes the safety and well-being of its children through robust oversight and high professional standards.

    The Offer

Rate: Up to £40.00 per hour, reflecting the high level of responsibility this role demands.

    *

Duration: Initial 3-month contract with the potential for extension.

    *

Team: Safeguarding & Reviewing Team 2.

    Your Impact

As an IRO, you will be the critical friend and the primary safeguard for children in care. Your responsibilities will include:

    *

Chairing statutory reviews for looked-after children and ensuring their care plans are progressed without delay.

    *

Monitoring the performance of the local authority’s function as a corporate parent.

    *

Identifying and challenging drift or poor practice to ensure the best possible outcomes.

    *

Engaging directly with children and young people to ensure their views influence their care.
