How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical Sales Engineer

    About the Role

    Our client is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Technical Sales Engineer to support the growth of their business. This role combines technical knowledge with sales expertise, focusing on developing strong client relationships and delivering tailored solutions.

    You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, supporting clients with technical guidance, and driving sales across the construction sector and end-user markets. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with a client-facing commercial role.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients across the construction industry and end-user sectors.

    * Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the company’s market presence.

    * Provide technical advice and product guidance to clients, helping them identify the most suitable solutions for their requirements.

    * Support the sales process from initial enquiry through to quotation, negotiation, and order completion.

    * Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and site visits where required.

    * Collaborate with internal teams to ensure projects and orders are delivered efficiently and to client expectations.

    * Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to identify opportunities for growth.

    Skills & Experience

    * Experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or a technical client-facing role.

    * Background in construction, engineering, or a related technical industry would be advantageous.

    * Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

    * Ability to understand technical specifications and translate them into practical solutions for clients.

    * Commercial awareness with the ability to identify and develop new opportunities.

    * A proactive, organised, and results-driven approach.
