How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Building Surveyor / Project Manager
    London (SE1)

    The Opportunity

    A boutique, director-led building consultancy in Central London is looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to join its growing team.

    This is a rare opportunity to join a high-quality, non-corporate environment where you will gain exposure across both professional services and project work, working directly with senior leadership from day one.

    The role offers full breadth of experience across the building surveying scope, alongside strong APC support and mentorship, making it an excellent option for those working towards chartership.

    The Role

    You will be involved in a genuine mix of building surveying and project management work across commercial assets.

    Key areas of exposure include:

    * Technical due diligence

    * Dilapidations (landlord & tenant)

    * Schedules of condition

    * Reinstatement cost assessments

    * Contract administration

    * Project management

    Projects are typically in the £0.5m – £2m range, with opportunities to gain exposure to larger schemes (£5m–£10m+).

    Work spans commercial property including office, industrial and retail.

    * Current team of 10, with plans to grow to ~15

    * Degree qualified in Building Surveying or similar
