How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We’re looking for a dedicated Communication Support Worker (CSW) to join our team on a full-time, term-time basis (37 hours/week). In return, you’ll receive a competitive salary of £21,890 per annum - £23,593 per annum (equivalent to a full year salary of £25,192 - £27,152 per annum), plus a fantastic range of staff benefits.

     What You’ll Be Doing

    As a CSW, you’ll play a vital role in helping Deaf and hard-of-hearing students thrive. You’ll:

    Work closely with teaching staff to support learners across a range of vocational subjects
    Promote independence, confidence, and inclusion
    Help students access the curriculum and reach their full potential
    Use your initiative and empathy to support learners in a flexible, responsive way

    We’re seeking someone who:

    Holds a Level 3 qualification in BSL (Signature, CACDP, SEG, or Scottish equivalent)
    Ideally has a formal CSW qualification
    Has GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
    Brings experience working with Deaf learners or those with SEND
    Is compassionate, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education
