How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Daily Supply Teacher (Primary)

    Barking & Dagenham, London
    £145–£170 per day | Part-Time | Temporary | Term Time Only
    Start Date: 20/04/2026
    Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Looking for flexible teaching work that fits around your life? Teach Now is recruiting Daily Supply Teachers to support a range of friendly, well-led primary schools across Barking & Dagenham. If you’re a qualified primary teacher who enjoys variety, wants to stay local, and prefers teaching without the extra workload of planning and marking, this is a role worth considering.

This is a great option for experienced teachers, returners to the classroom, and ECTs who want to build confidence across different schools before taking on a permanent role.

    The Role

You’ll provide classroom cover across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 on a day-to-day, short-term, and long-term basis. Schools need reliable teachers who can step in, deliver engaging lessons, and keep learning on track from the moment the register is taken.

You’ll be supported by a dedicated consultant who knows the local area and can match you with schools that suit your strengths, preferred key stages, and availability.

Why Teachers Choose Teach Now for Supply

    • Choose your own working days – full flexibility to suit your schedule
    • Work close to home in Barking & Dagenham and nearby boroughs
    • No planning or marking on most daily supply assignments
    • Build relationships with schools you like and return regularly
    • A mix of bookings – from one-off days to longer placements
    • Fast, friendly support from a team that understands primary education
To be considered as a Supply Teacher, you must have:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    • Right to work in the UK
    • Experience teaching in UK primary schools
    • Confidence teaching across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
    • Strong behaviour management and classroom presence
    • The ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff
    • Availability during school hours (8:30am–3:30pm)

This opportunity is ideal if you are:

    • An ECT looking to gain broad classroom experience
    • A qualified teacher seeking better work-life balance
    • Returning to teaching and wanting a flexible route back in
    • Interested in trying different schools before choosing a permanent role
