How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Support Worker - Children's Contracts
    Kent
    £27,264 - £33,384 per annum
    Full-time | Permanent (40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm)

    About the Role

    We are currently recruiting for Support Workers to join a dedicated and growing Children's Contracts team across Kent.

    This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people leaving care, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people, as they transition into independent living. You will play a vital role in empowering individuals to build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive long-term outcomes.

    Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will manage your own caseload and deliver high-quality, person-centred support across a diverse geographic area.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage a caseload of young people within supported accommodation
    Provide practical and emotional support to those living independently
    Support the development of essential life skills such as budgeting, education, and daily living
    Work in line with individual pathway plans, ensuring progress and regular updates
    Liaise with social workers, local authorities, and external stakeholders
    Promote safeguarding and ensure all concerns are appropriately reported
    Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
    Conduct property visits to ensure health & safety and accommodation standards are met
    Support young people during move-ins, including inductions and settling into accommodation
    Participate in service development, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
    Provide on-call support where requiredAbout You

    We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and making a meaningful difference.

    Essential:

    Previous experience working with young people within a care or support setting
    Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
    Strong communication and relationship-building skills
    Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
    Willingness to travel regularly across a wide geographic areaDesirable:

    NVQ Level 3 in Children's Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
