How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description:

    CCS are in search of a highly motivated and inspiring Teacher of Design & Technology to join an outstanding co-educational secondary school (11–16). This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about DT, woodwork, art, and creative problem-solving, and enjoys engaging students in hands-on, practical lessons.

    The successful candidate will work as a Teacher of Design & Technology, delivering high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will plan lessons, assess progress, and support students’ personal development, helping them develop creativity, technical skills, and critical thinking.

    As part of the role, the Teacher of Design & Technology will contribute to curriculum development, support extra-curricular activities such as clubs or competitions, and work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice. The school values teachers who can inspire curiosity, foster a positive classroom environment, and help students thrive academically and personally.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Deliver engaging and effective DT lessons across KS3 and KS4, including woodwork, art, and practical design projects.

    * Maintain high standards of classroom management and inclusion.

    * Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the school.

    Person Specification:

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Design & Technology or related practical subjects.

    * Experience with students aged 11–16 and adapting lessons to varying abilities.

    * Passion for DT, woodwork, art, and inspiring students to develop practical and creative skills.

    * Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

    * Commitment to working in an outstanding Ofsted school environment.
