How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established technology business is seeking a Production Engineering Lead to support the build and delivery of complex hardware systems within a production environment.

    This is a confidential appointment within a growing engineering‑led organisation operating in the industrial and embedded hardware space.

    Role overview

    The Production Engineering Lead will act as a key technical support function within production, working closely with engineering, configuration and quality teams to ensure products are built, tested and released efficiently and consistently.

    This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys being close to production activity and taking ownership of technical issues that arise during build and test.

    Responsibilities

    * Provide hands‑on technical support across production activities

    * Troubleshoot hardware, system and integration issues during build and test

    * Support first‑article, prototype and pre‑production builds

    * Improve and maintain build processes, work instructions and documentation

    * Support configuration and change activity to maintain build accuracy

    * Act as a technical escalation point for production‑related issues

    * Work collaboratively with engineering, quality and operations teams

    Candidate profile

    * Background in production engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems integration or NPI

    * Experience working with complex hardware systems in a production environment

    * Comfortable operating in a hands‑on, shop‑floor‑focused role

    * Proven ability to diagnose and resolve build and integration issues

    * Experience supporting new product or first‑article builds

    * Practical, detail‑focused and solutions‑driven approach

    Experience within industrial, embedded or custom hardware environments is advantageous, but company‑specific experience is not essential.

    Why consider this role

    * Technically varied position with genuine ownership

    * Opportunity to influence how products are built and delivered

    * Hands‑on engineering role rather than purely desk‑based work

    * Long‑term opportunity within a stable, growing business

    Further details about the organisation will be shared during the interview process.
