How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Process/Senior Process Instrument Design Engineer- Nuclear (Contract)
    Warrington (Hybrid - 3 days on site)
    £46-£51/hour (Inside IR35) | Up to £56/hour for Senior Candidates
    37 hours over 4½ days per week

    We're supporting a key nuclear programme and are looking for a Process Instrument Design Engineer to join the Silos PFCS Supporting Projects E&I design team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile, safety-critical projects where your expertise will directly contribute to complex engineering solutions.

    The Role
    You'll be responsible for delivering and checking high-quality design packages, ensuring they meet safety, functional, and business requirements across the project lifecycle.
    You will:

    Deliver process instrumentation design from concept through to handover
    Support and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
    Review and check design documentation
    Provide technical support to construction and commissioning activities
    Mentor and support early career engineers
    Essential Requirements

    HND (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
    Incorporated Engineer (or working towards)
    Active SC Clearance
    Minimum 3 years' experience as a Process Instrument Design Engineer on multidisciplinary projects
    Strong understanding of engineering standards
    Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
    Experience supporting both construction and commissioning phases
    Desirable Experience

    5+ years in Instrument & Safety Design Engineering
    Experience across nuclear or similarly regulated environments (nuclear experience is essential overall)
    Knowledge of:
    Process Instrumentation
    Radiometric & Special Instruments
    Safety Systems
    Familiarity with site-specific engineering standards
