About the role
Reporting to the Managing Director and operating at Board level, you will take full ownership of the finance function and play a key role in shaping both financial performance and strategic direction. You will play a central role in translating strategy into actionable plans, ensuring that financial priorities are embedded, tracked, and delivered across the organisation.
Key responsibilities as Finance Director include:
* Developing and delivering the financial strategy aligned to business objectives;
* Translating strategic objectives into clear financial plans, budgets, and measurable outcomes;
* Full responsibility for finance reporting and control;
* Leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling;
* Overseeing management information and providing clear, insightful reporting to the Board;
* Supporting funding strategy and managing relationships with external stakeholders;
* Ensuring compliance with regulatory, statutory, and governance requirements;
* Leading, developing, and structuring the finance function;
* Providing commercial insight and constructive challenge to support decision-making;
* Develop and manage the financial infrastructure of the business.
You will also contribute at Senior Management Team and Board level, supporting governance, reporting, and strategic decision-making across the business.
About you
* A qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or ACMA with significant senior finance leadership experience, ideally within a regulated or financial services environment.
* Strong technical background in UK, IFRS and UK Tax;
* Commercially aware and a strategic thinker;
* A proven ability to implement and deliver strategy, not just develop it;
* Confidence operating at Board level, with the ability to influence and challenge;
* A track record of building and developing high-performing teams;
* A balance of technical strength and pragmatic, business-focused thinking;
* Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic and evolving environment;
* Experience across funding structures, financial modelling, and regulatory frameworks will be advantageous.
* Confidence when communicating with both internal and externally stakeholders.
