How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Production Planner

    Location: Fife (Tayport area)
    Salary: Range between £35k - £45k+ Bonus (£5,000–£7,000) + Share Scheme

    Are you an experienced Production Planner looking to join a growing manufacturing business where you can have real impact across operations?

    I’m working with a well-established, highly innovative manufacturing company that has seen significant commercial growth in recent years, supported by continued investment in both people and production capability.

    What sets this business apart is its employee ownership model, giving you a genuine stake in the success of the company, alongside a strong annual bonus, pension scheme and other significantly rewarding benefits.

    The Role

    This is a key position within the operations team, responsible for ensuring production runs efficiently, meets customer demand, and maximises site performance.

    You’ll act as the central link between commercial, production, procurement, engineering and logistics, balancing demand with capacity to ensure smooth delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on orders, forecasts and stock requirements

    * Optimise machine capacity, labour and material availability

    * Sequence production to minimise downtime, changeovers and waste

    * Monitor production progress and adjust plans in response to breakdowns or changing priorities

    * Work closely with procurement to ensure materials are available on time

    * Collaborate with commercial teams to manage customer expectations and delivery timelines

    * Track and report on KPIs such as OTIF, schedule adherence and capacity utilisation

    * Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and operations

    What We’re Looking For

    * Previous experience in a Production Planner or Scheduling role within manufacturing

    * Strong understanding of planning systems (ERP/MRP)

    * Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

    * Strong analytical ability with high attention to detail

    * Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally

    * Proficient in Excel and planning tools

    Experience within technical or industrial manufacturing would be advantageous.

    Why Apply?

    * Join a business experiencing strong and sustained commercial growth

    * Employee-owned company with a share scheme

    * Annual bonus typically worth £5,000–£7,000

    * Opportunity to play a key role in site performance and operational efficiency

    * Collaborative and forward-thinking environment

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Planner looking to step into a role where they can have genuine influence across a growing and successful manufacturing operation.
