How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Assistant Site Manager

    A great opportunity has come up for an Assistant Site Manager to join a well-established PLC residential developer on a timber frame housing development near Horsham.

    This is a chance to join a busy and well-performing regional team delivering a quality residential scheme in a fast-paced environment. The development will consist mainly of timber frame homes, offering you the opportunity to gain solid experience, while working alongside an experienced management team.

    You'll be working closely with the Senior Site Manager and wider site team, helping with the day-to-day running of the development and ensuring plots are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

    Key Responsibilities

    Assisting with the day-to-day running of the construction site
    Coordinating and supervising subcontractors and trades on site
    Ensuring work is carried out safely, on programme and to the required quality standards
    Carrying out site inspections and quality checks, including NHBC stage inspections
    Monitoring progress across timber frame plots
    Supporting with site logistics, deliveries and materials
    Maintaining a high level of site presentation and organisation
    Working closely with the wider site and technical teams to help keep the build programme on track

    Requirements

    Previous experience working as an Assistant Site Manager within residential housebuilding
    Experience with timber frame construction would be beneficial
    Strong organisational and communication skills
    A proactive attitude and the ability to work well in a busy site environment
    Relevant site qualifications such as SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid are desirable
