Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with special needs? We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in Taunton. You will be working in a school that caters to children with learning difficulties, autism, Down's syndrome, and ADHD.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with learning difficulties, autism, Down's syndrome, and ADHD.
Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
Support the classroom teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Help students with daily tasks and activities, promoting independence and confidence.
Implement behaviour management strategies to support student engagement and progress.
Monitor and record student progress, communicating effectively with teachers and parents.
Requirements:
Experience working with children with special needs, particularly those with learning difficulties, autism, Down's syndrome, and ADHD.
Strong understanding of various special educational needs and strategies to support them.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications or training in special education (desirable but not essential).
