How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A leading Construction Consultancy is seeking a Building Surveyor to support the delivery of a wide range of projects across multiple sectors. This Building Surveyor role offers exposure to varied Building Surveying work, with responsibility across project delivery, client interaction and team support. The Building Surveyor will join an established Building Surveying team and be involved in Building Surveyor services from pre contract through to completion.

This Building Surveyor position offers long term stability, a clear workload pipeline and structured career development within Building Surveying.

    The Role

    As the Building Surveyor, you will take responsibility for delivering a range of professional and project based instructions while supporting junior members of the team.

    The role will include:

    * Leading and managing building surveying projects, including more complex instructions, with minimal supervision
    * Delivering pre contract and professional Building Surveying services
    * Producing building surveys, condition reports, defect reports and party wall matters
    * Preparing specifications, schedules of works, drawings and contract documentation
    * Advising clients on procurement routes, project setup and risk management
    * Undertaking site inspections to monitor progress, quality, health and safety and compliance

    The Building Surveyor?

    You will be a technically capable Building Surveyor with experience delivering projects through the full lifecycle. Applications from non property or construction backgrounds will not be considered.

    The Building Surveyor must have:

    * A degree in a property or construction related discipline
    * Knowledge of building construction, defects and property legislation including the Party Wall etc Act 1996
    * Experience of pre contract services and contract administration
    * Familiarity with JCT forms of contract
